Patsy Draper

Patsy Draper, 85 of Dalton, Nebraska died early Friday morning, March 25, 2011 at the Memorial Health Center in Sidney.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the United Church of the Plains, Presbyterian site in Dalton with Pastors Leon “Bud” Gillespie and Donna Herman officiating. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Memorials have been established to the Dalton and Gurley Rescue Units.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign the register book until 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Patsy Lou Draper, the daughter of Jess and Bessie (Ferguson) Grove was born November 1, 1925 at Mitchell, South Dakota. The family moved to Idaho Springs, Colorado before moving to Michigan. Her father died when she was eight years old and she and her mother moved to Denver, Colorado where she grew up and attended school.

On April 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Draper and the city girl moved to the family farm west of Gurley, Nebraska where she lived until the time of her death.

After her youngest son started school, she went to work for the Egging Company as a bookkeeper for over twenty years.

Patsy enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, reading, going to auctions and loved her cats. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Dalton-Gurley Garden Club.

Survivors include her three sons: Skeeter and wife Helen Draper and Stanley and wife Emily Draper all of Salt Lake City, UT and Steven and wife Carmen Draper of Gurley, NE; one sister-in-law Elda Draper of Sidney, NE; 2 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Jess Grove, her mother Bessie Clark, her step-father Dean Clark, a half brother Bob Ferguson and her husband.
