William Holz was born March 19, 1916 at Beatrice, Nebraska to George and Anna (Delabar) Holz.
On October 13, 1940 he was married to Alvina Vordertrasse at Peace Lutheran Church near Plymouth, Nebraska.
Bill worked as an auto mechanic most of his life. He owned his own auto repair business in Beatrice, Nebraska and worked for auto dealerships in Columbus, Nebraska and Sidney where his family moved in March of 1958.
As a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1958, he served on the church council and was honored in 2006 for his 25 years of teaching Sunday school at Holy Trinity. He also provided a Sunday service and readings at the Golden Living Center for 20 years.
He was a metal craftsman and a busy inventor, and because of those skills he was always tinkering in his garage building powered playground equipment for his grandchildren or any neighborhood children. Bill never met anyone that he wouldn’t talk to for hours on end, and at family gatherings he was a child magnet. He was usually found playing with, carrying, or talking to any of the children present.
