Gerald "Jerry" Dennis

GERALD (Jerry) DENNIS died Monday, April 11, 2011 in Oshkosh. He was 76 years old. His sister, Sondra, Denver; his brother, Jim (Lan), Calif.; his nieces; Allison Lobato-Brunko (Wesley), Denver, Therese Shepherd (Kerry)Phoenix, Monica Stamper (Kirk),Denver, in addition, Jerry has a niece, Jeannie, Corpus Christi, TX., and a nephew, Jim Dennis, CA. We all mourn his death. He was born in Des Moines, IA; lived in Denver for many years where he founded a home he called Savio House in 1966. Hundreds of young boys came to Savio House to find the stability, discipline and respect and love needed to survive. Eventually he came to call Nebraska home, he was sick of Denver's traffic. He first went to Harrisburg, NE and then moved to Lewellen, NE. He spent his last year and 1/2 at Garden County Nursing Home.

A service in Denver will be held at a later date. A memorial may be made in Jerry's memory, to GARDEN COUNTY NURSING HOME, Oshkosh, NE and to the Angels of Mercy who staff the home. We're proud to have given Jerry a peaceful death in the arms of the staff/angels at the Home.
