Lila Moffat, 75, of Oshkosh, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Garden County Health Services Hospital in Oshkosh.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh with Wayne Frass, PMA officiating. Burial will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery near Lewellen.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in Lila’s name to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or to the Auxiliary Unit at the Garden County Nursing Home.

Lila was born on September 22, 1935 in Lewellen, Nebraska to Harold and Alice (Berglund) Moffat.
She attended country school before graduating from Garden County High School in 1953. After high school, she attended the college in Kearney for 2 years before transferring to UNMC in Omaha. She graduated from UNMC and continued to work there for the next 44 years. During this time she also received a master’s degree from the university. She was very proud of her master’s degree.
After her retirement she moved back to Oshkosh in 2000. In 2007, she moved into the Garden County Nursing Home.
Lila loved flowers and was a Master Gardener. She enjoyed reading and loved dogs, especially Schnauzers. She was a very crafty person, who enjoyed needlepoint, leatherwork, sewing, and flower arranging. She was a die-hard Nebraska football fan.
She was a lifelong Lutheran. She was confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran church in her youth and was glad to rejoin the congregation when she returned to Oshkosh.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Allen and wife, Cheri Moffat of Chappell, Melvin of Oshkosh; 5 nephews and niece, Ron and wife, Dodi Moffat of Oshkosh, Carissa and husband, Clark Miller of Boise, Idaho, Moe and wife, Jenny Moffat of Oshkosh, Curtis and wife, Becky Moffat of Torrington, Wyoming, and Douglas Moffat of Chadron, Nebraska; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Althea; and sister-in-law, Barbara Moffat.
