Dorothy Roth

Dorothy Roth, 85, lovely lady of the Lord, passed from earth to unite with her Heavenly Father God on June 9, 2011 at the Sedgwick County Hospital in Julesburg, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the Chappell Assembly of God Church with Pastor Rich Graeff officiating. Burial will follow in the Mennonite Cemetery east of Chappell.
Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell.
She was born on May 13, 1926 to her parents Emmanuel and Barbara Stutzman in Wood River, Nebraska. She was the second child in a family of nine, where she often helped out with household chores and cared for younger siblings.
On September 6, 1944, in St. Frances, Kansas, Dorothy was united in marriage to Earl Edward Roth and lived in Julesburg, Colorado where three sons were born: Edward Earl, Robert Lee and Donnie Lynn. The family later moved to Chappell, Nebraska where Earl and Dorothy were both employed. Dorothy took great pride in her 45 years of employment at the Miller Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home. Her numerous roles included housekeeping, laundry and food services. At the same time she lovingly raised her family which grew to include seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly. Every year up through 2010 they always enjoyed gathering at her home for Christmas Eve chili and oyster stew as well as her delicious homemade pies.
Dorothy was raised in the Mennonite church and later became a member of the Assembly of God church in Chappell. She was an actively involved lady who in her later years met often with dear friends for coffee on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as a women’s prayer group on Wednesdays. She did take Mondays off! Dorothy gave out love in her beautiful quiet ways and received love from so many. She will be missed immensely!
She is survived by: Two sisters - Pauline Thompson (John) and Marilyn Metheny (George) all of Kingman, AZ; Three sons – Edward Roth (Rose) of Surprise, AZ; Robert Roth (Jan) and Donnie Roth (Susan) all of Chappell, NE; Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren – Lance Roth (Rachelle) and daughter, Elliana; Shauna Myers (Dan) and children, Stephen and Anna; Nathan Roth; Casey Roth (Stephanie) and children, Aden, Mason and Ashlyn; Zachary Roth (Dawn); Travis Roth (Sarah) and son Trevon and LeAnn Kampfe (Paul) and daughter Kylee.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and husband Earl.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell is serving the Roth family.
