Marian J. Dotson, 76 of Lodgepole, Nebraska died Monday evening, August 8, 2011 at the Linden Court Nursing Home in North Platte, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the First Christian Church in Sidney with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Lodgepole.

Memorials have been established to the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado for Pulmonary Fibrosis research.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Marian was born in Briggsdale, Colorado on December 7, 1934 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Dienes) Hart. They family moved to Cheyenne County in 1950 where she attended school and graduated from Sidney High School. She had great success in her careers. She retired from J.C. Penny with 25 years of service. She also worked for Deuel County as a Clerk Magistrate for 10 years.

Her favorite hobby was raising her children. Her other interests included gardening, reading, shopping and cooking. She was an avid collector of many different things, but she especially loved her music boxes. She was loved by all and she never met a stranger. She had a beautiful smile and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include two sons: James K. Dotson of Farmington, MO and James K. Dotson, III of North Platte, NE; four daughters: Lyla Thiemet of Loveland, CO, Charlene Lucero of Sidney, NE, Chalene Torres of Aurora, CO and Dian Scott of Rolla, MO; four brothers: Don Hart of Phoenix, AZ, John Hart of Aurora, CO and George Hart of Sidney, NE; two sisters: Betty Hurst and Lee Bahr both of Sidney, NE; 13 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Dotson, her son Kenneth Dotson and her sister Barbara Gerber.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Dotson family.
