Karen Bouldin, 59 of Sidney, Nebraska died Friday afternoon, October 28, 2011 at the Memorial Health Center, Extended Care in Sidney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney with Father Art Faesser officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
A closed casket visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with the family present from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
A memorial in Karen’s name has been established for Memorial Health Center Home Health Hospice.
Karen Lucille Bouldin, the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Van Anne) Schinzel, was born January 16, 1952 in Dalton Nebraska. Karen grew up in Dalton and graduated from Dalton high school in 1970. Karen attended WNCC in Scottsbluff, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Radiology.
Karen worked at Cabelas for 27 years, beginning in the customer service department in 1984. Her last position was working in the inventory systems department. Karen retired from Cabelas in April 2011.
On December 18, 1992 Karen was united in marriage at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church to Richard Bouldin.
Karen enjoyed family, gardening, sewing, camping and viewing animals in their natural environment.
Survivors include her husband Richard Bouldin of Sidney; father Edward Schinzel of Sidney; sisters: Pat Brown of Colorado Spring CO, Ann Rath of Highlands Ranch CO, Lori Cudmore of Parker CO, Judy Brown of Phoenix AZ, Rita Anest and Jane Joyce both of Sidney; one brother Mike Schinzel of Des Moines IA and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Van Anne Schinzel, younger sister Paula Burns and grandparents John and Theresa Van Anne and Rudy and Elsie Schinzel.
