Peggy L. Oberndorfer

Peggy Oberndorfer, 51 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and a former Potter resident died Sunday, November 28, 2011 at her home in Scottsbluff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 5, 2011 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, northeast of Potter with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the Lutheran Hour, St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Panhandle Humane Society in Scottsbluff.

Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Peggy Lynn Oberndorfer was born March 5, 1960 at Sidney, Nebraska to Normund W. and Adella (Horst) Oberndorfer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lutheran Church-Potter. She grew up on the family farm and attended Potter Public School, graduating in 1978. She later graduated from the School on Commerce and worked at Nebraska Public Power in Lincoln, Nebraska. She also lived in Gering, working for the City of Gering; Omaha, where she was employed by Omaha Public Power District; and most recently in Scottsbluff.

Peggy loved animals and enjoyed being on the farm to watch the sunsets and stars. She also was an avid Husker and Bronco fan.

Survivors include her mother Adella Oberndorfer of Potter, NE; sister Barb (Toby) Meade of Joplin, MO; niece Brooke Lashley and nephew Nate Lashley both of Scottsdale, AZ; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her father, infant brother Mark, sister Char Lashley and brother-in-law Rod Lashley.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Oberndorfer family.
