Theatta Ross, 92 of Sidney, Nebraska died Monday evening, December 5, 2011 at the Memorial Health Center, Extended Care in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 9, 2011 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor Bob Mortvedt officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.
Theatta was born July 7, 1919 on a farm in Cheyenne County near Dalton, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Ada (Pederson) Marx. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Dalton where she attended country school. She moved to Sidney with her father when she was in her late 20’s. It was in Sidney she met her husband LeMoyne Ross and they were married in 1951 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After a short time living in Scottsbluff, they returned to Sidney and her husband began farming with her father and she became a lifelong farm wife.
Theatta was a 50 year member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her son Richard Ross of Sidney, NE and one cousin Lolly Kaus of Sidney, NE
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Ross family.
