Jimmy Ray "JR" Barnett, 19 of Oshkosh, NE. died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.
Local memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. (MST) on Saturday February 4, 2012 at the Garden County High School in Oshkosh with Pastor Ray Weinerman officiating.
Lincoln Memorial Chapel in Lincoln and Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh are serving the Barnett family.
He was born on November 30, 1992 in Lincoln.
JR loved playing Football and was a member of the Garden County Football team. He was an All District Player. He played baseball for the Legion team, "Buckley Bombers" and enjoyed coaching Pee Wee and Little League Baseball. He participated in Speech, Football, Basketball, and Track.
JR attended elementary school in Lincoln and spent his middle school and high school years in Oshkosh, NE, graduating from Garden County High School in 2011. He was a freshman at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
He is survived by his parents, Rae Ann Barnett and Jim Barnett of Lincoln; sister Kelley Barnett of Omaha, sister Katie Barnett-Nungesser of Lincoln, sister Molly Barnett of Omaha; special niece Logan of Lincoln; Kent (Kathleen) Loyd, Mike Barnett, Jerry (Nancy) Barnett, Brenda (Dave) Kubicek; Great Grandmother Ione Loyd of Oshkosh; and many cousins and friends.
JR is preceded in death by Grandmother Kay Eggers, Great-Grandfather "Grandad" Ray Loyd, and Grandparents Bob and Arlene Barnett.
