Francis Hull, 82 of Cheyenne, Wyoming and a former Dix and Sidney resident died Monday evening, March 5, 2012 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 9, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church in Sidney with the Rev. Thomas Hyde officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery at Chappell, Nebraska with military rites.
Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.
Francis LeRoy Hull, the son of Herbert and Addie (Glassburn) Hull was born January 6, 1930 at Brule, Nebraska. The family moved to Cheyenne County where they farmed in the Sidney Draw. He attended school in Lorenzo, Nebraska. In 1952 he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was discharged on April 3, 1954 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. It was during his service years he met his future wife, Marion Piper. They were married on February 22, 1955 at Lewiston, New York.
The new couple returned to Nebraska by train and settled in the Sidney Draw area where he was engaged in farming. He later worked as a custodian at the Vo Tech School located at the old Sioux Army Deport west of Sidney.
He and Marion divorced and on June 10, 1983 he married Sara Richey. They lived in Sterling, Colorado and Dix, Nebraska. After Sara’s death last year he moved to Cheyenne.
Survivors include four daughters: Miranda Beyer of Sidney, NE, Stephanie Hanway and husband Stacy of Chappell, NE, Cynthia Dill and husband John of Cheyenne, WY and Celeste Baker and husband Brad of Merino, CO; 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Fay Evelyn, brother Clarence, sister Ida Fay Haberkorn and both wives.
