Dean Beebe, Sr. 81 of Kearney, Nebraska and a former Kimball and Sidney resident died Saturday evening, March 10, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Graveside inurnment services with military rites will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with Pastor Thomas Hyde of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign Dean’s register book at the funeral home on Friday.
Dean O. Beebe, Sr., the son of Clarence and Esther (Philamalee) Beebe was born May 12, 1930 at Crook, Colorado. He attended school at Sedgwick, Colorado. After school he served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge he was married to Beulah Quador and to this union two children were born, Dean, Jr. and Barbara. They made their home in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Dean worked as a milkman and later served on the Cheyenne Fire Department where he reached the rank of Lieutenant. He went to Viet Nam as a civilian fire chief for the U.S. Army. Upon his return he worked for his brother in the oil fields as an oil well pumper. He later became a self-employed pumper until ill health forced his retirement in 1988.
On October 22, 1981 he was married to Bernice Foran in Kimball, Nebraska. They moved to Sidney where he resided until moving to Kearney in October, 2011.
He was a charter member of the Eagles Club in Kimball.
Survivors include his wife Bernice Beebe of Sidney, NE; one son Dean Beebe, Jr. of Kearney, NE; one daughter Barbara Stonehocker of Des Moines, IA; three sisters: Fyrne Shepard of Kimball, NE, Shirley Zorn of Pine Bluffs, WY, and Sharon Kirkman of North Carolina; step children: Danny Foran of Dubuque, IA, Sharon Harlak of Omaha, NE, Valerie Tooley of Sidney, NE, and Cindy Thompson of Columbus, NE; a sister-in-law Wilma Beebe of Kimball, NE; 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson Jeffrey Beebe.
