Mary Taylor, 89 of Sidney, Nebraska died Tuesday afternoon, May 1, 2012 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney. Cremation will follow with inurnment in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Memorials have been established to the Sidney Regional Medical Center.
Mary Ava Taylor, the daughter of Marvin and Myrtle (Aulberry) Dotson was born February 27, 1923 at Gretna, Nebraska. The family moved to the Kimball area when she was young. She attended country school before graduating from Kimball High School.
On January 23, 1942 she was united in marriage to Tom E. Taylor. They lived in Texas while he was in the Army Air Corp. After his discharge they moved to Sidney. Mary worked for the telephone company, Jack and Jill Grocery and for Cabelas from where she retired after fifteen years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Bowker of Sidney, NE; eight grandchildren: Mark Babutzke and wife Susan of O’Neill, NE, Debbie Taylor-Goodro and husband Marvin of Grand Island, NE, Thad Babutzke and wife Barbie of O’Neill, NE, Thayne Babutzke of Niles, MI, Yavette Prater and husband Rick of Sidney, NE, Tim Bowker and wife Susan of Sidney, NE, Tom Bowker and girlfriend Jody of Terre Haute, IN and Tonya Neemann and husband Joey of Lodgepole, NE; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 Great, great-grandchildren and one sister June Bush of Corvallis, OR
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, one daughter Cecelia Babutzke, two brothers: Lee and Woodrow, and three sisters: Maxine, Dorothy and Hazel.
