Helen (Haskell) Wellsandt entered into final rest on May 13, 2012 at the age of 98, at the home of her granddaughter, Sharon Curless, in Pine Bluffs, WY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell with Pastor Daniel Larson officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Chappell City Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Chappell Senior Center or to the LWML of Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell.

Helen was born the Wallace and Mary (Little) Haskell on July 1, 1913, in Emerald, NE. The family moved to a farm north of Chappell in 1916. Helen attended Garden County Elementary School and graduated from Chappell High School in 1931. Upon completion of her high school education she received a Normal Training Degree and taught rural school in Garden County for 3 years. She was a beautician in Chappell for 20 years. Helen was a long standing member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell and was active in the LWML, taught Sunday school for many years and was especially dedicated to her love of quilting.
On February 28, 1932, Helen married Walter Wellsandt and to this union was born 4 children: Janet, Kenneth, Jennell, and Jolene.
Survivors include her children; Janet Pace (Mrs. Burton, Jennell Murfitt, and Jolene Mares; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents, Mary and Wallace Haskell; one son, Kenneth; sister, Inez Newberg; brothers, Claude and Jim Haskell; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Larreau.
