Mary Catherine Higgins Martin, 93, of Oshkosh, Nebraska passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Lynn Lutz officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home and burial will be in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Medina, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mary’s name to the Garden County Nursing Home Activities Fund.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Mary Martin was born November 8, 1918 in Leesville, West Virginia to Walter Hudson and Effie Mahala (Stephens) Dulaney. When she was young the family moved to Richmond, Ohio where she was raised and attended school.
On August 14, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ellsworth George Higgins. To this union 4 children were born- Ruby, Mary Lou, William, and Norman. The family settled for a time in Cleveland, Ohio before Mary and Ellsworth moved to Denver, Colorado in 1975. Ellsworth passed away in 1980.
In 1982, she married William Martin. Following their marriage they purchased a 5th wheel and traveled the country spending time in Denver, Florida and Ohio. After William’s passing, Mary moved to Oshkosh where she spent 11 years.
She was a member of the Oshkosh Wesleyan Church.
She enjoyed making pincushions, playing cards and bingo, reading, yodeling, collecting angels, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children; Ruby and Dave Case of Medina, Ohio, Mary Lou and Dwight Porter of Oshkosh, Nebraska; William and Lenore Higgins of North Sandwich, New Hampshire, and Norman and Mary Higgins of Daleville, Alabama; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her 2 husbands; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
