Mildred Knutson, 93 of Bayard, Nebraska and a former Dalton resident died Wednesday afternoon, August 1, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Trinity Lutheran location of the United Church of the Plains in Dalton with Pastor Eric Alm officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 7, 2012 with Pastor Mark Peterson officiating.
Memorials have been established to the United Church of the Plains, Trinity Lutheran location in Dalton.
Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with the family present from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Addie Mildred (Van Sickle) Knutson, the daughter of George N. and Nellie V. (Archer) Booth was born April 3, 1919 at Norton, Kansas. She moved with her family to Ordway, Colorado where she attended schools and graduated from high school.
On November 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to John Van Sickle in Las Animas, Colorado. In the 1950’s they moved to Longmont, Colorado where she worked as a bookkeeper for Lefthand Water Supply, Co. in Niwot, Colorado. John preceded her in death in 1970.
On March 20, 1971 she married Warren Russell Knutson in Longmont. They moved to Bridgeport, Nebraska in 1973. Warren passed away in 1981 and she moved to Dalton in 1982 where she resided until moving to Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, Nebraska in 2004.
Survivors include two sons: John and wife Cyndy Knutson of Salina, KS and David and wife (Debbie Harless) Knutson of Trent, SD; three grandchildren: Anna Knutson, Neil and wife Lorelie Knutson and Charles Knutson and two great-grandchildren: William and Haleigh Knutson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; three brothers: Arley, Art and Floyd and an infant sister.
