Barbara Jeanne Nerud, 81, of Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday morning, August 29, 2012 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Oshkosh with the Bishop Scott Barker and Reverend Christine Planz of the St. George's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family will be present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Barbara's name.

Barbara Jeanne was born on March 6, 1931 to Glen and Ethel Morris in Morrill, NE. Barb attended school in Morrill. The family moved to Bayard in 1946 and she attended Bayard High School, where she graduated in 1949. While attending high school she met the love of her life, Jack Nerud. They were married on August 27, 1950. They had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary the Monday before she passed.
Jack and Barb moved to Oshkosh in 1958 when they purchased an insurance agency. Barbara retired from the business in 1994.
Barbara loved her family and friends. She was a compassionate caregiver, and a selfless and giving person. If something needed to be done, Barb was always there to volunteer.
Barbara was a founding member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, an ordained Deacon and active in the Ministerial Association.
She was a member of Eastern Star, active in Girl Scouts, Job’s Daughters, and a frequent visitor to the Garden County Nursing Home.
Barb will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and her whole community.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jack, of Oshkosh; 4 daughters, Kim (Dan) Matthews of Phoenix, AZ, Karen (Ed) Wamsley of Lincoln, NE, Kristy Nerud of Oshkosh, and Kathy Nerud of Oakland, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jodi Myers of Oshkosh, Jared (Jamie) Bell of Webster City, IA, Jen (Ty) Gray of Phoenix, AZ; Matt (Jen) Ormiston of Lincoln, NE, Kylee Bell of Ogallala, and Nicolette Abbondandlo, of Denver, CO; 7 great-grandchildren, Henry Schuff, V, Kaylee Bell, Ryan Myers, Josh Myers, Kashtyn LeJeune, Jackson Bell, Jorilyn Bell and Paisley Sue Ormiston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ethel Morris.
