Iva Schuppan, 84 of Sidney, Nebraska died early Sunday morning, September 2, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Sidney.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor Bradley Heinecke officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00-7:00 p.m. The family will be present from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

A memorial in Iva’s name has been established to Sidney Regional Medical Center Hospice.


Iva Schuppan was born Iva Marie Henneman in Preso, South Dakota on December 24, 1927 to Alfred and Vera Henneman joining three brothers and three sisters. She married Frank Chris Schuppan on September 27, 1947 and had three children,

She was divorced on February 7, 1980 and moved to McCook, Nebraska, where she worked for Nebraska Job Service until her retirement in 1994. She then moved back to Sidney where she lived until her death.

She enjoyed reading and doing crafts. Above all else she loved doting on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Toni and husband, Mike Ohrman of Benkelman, Nebraska, Sandra and husband, David Stotler of Sidney, and Tracy Schuppan of Adams, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren: Michael Ohrman of Benkelman; Alicia and husband, Rhett Stafford of Laramie, Wyoming, and Aaron and Zach Schuppan of Adams; 3 great-grandchildren: Tana, Tyler and Tobi Ohrman of Benkelman; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her brothers and sisters.
