Kenneth “Ken” Burmester, 70, of Lisco, passed away Friday morning, September 28, 2012 at his home in Lisco.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Lynn Lutz officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Kenneth Miles Burmester was born on September 14, 1942 to Miles and Arlene (Heine) Burmester in Pender, NE. He attended rural schools before graduating from Pender High School in 1960. After high school he worked for a trucking company and did custom farming.
On August 26, 1965 he was united in marriage to Marlene McKeegan-Rennerfeldt in Pender. The family made their home in Pender and Ken continued his custom farming work and worked for a time at Blue Jet Manufacturing.
In 1973, the family moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska. Ken worked at the Oshkosh Feed Lot and owned Platte River Welding for a short time before moving to Lisco in 1991. In Lisco he worked as a shop foreman at Rushcreek until he retired in 2009.
Ken enjoyed inventing tools, handling horses, old Western movies and country music. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include son, Michael Burmester of Alliance, Nebraska; 4 daughters, Kathy and Chuck Jasnoch of Presho, SD, Shelly and Jeff Bassett of Ogallala, Jeanne and Ed Habash of Great Bend, KS, and Dawn and Clay Pinnt of Chadron,NE; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 brother, Warren and Linda Burmester of Pender, NE; 1 sister, Betty and Gerald Henzler of Pierce, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene in 1992 and his parents, Miles and Arlene Burmester.
