Jeff Dore, 56 of Sherman, Texas and a former Sidney resident died Sunday evening, March 24, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Sherman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with Pastor Doug Birky of the Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday.
Jeffrey Allen Dore, the son of Robert and Dorthy Dore was born March 10, 1957 at Fairborn, Ohio. The family moved to the Denver, Colorado area where he attended school, graduating from Northglenn High School in 1975. He ended up in Sidney to attend Western Nebraska Community College, studying railroad car repair and welding. It was there he met Rebecca Jane Ladine through family members. He and Becky were married in 1981. In 1985 he graduated from the Community College of Denver with an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Technology (heating and air conditioning appliance repair). From 1985 to 1989 he owned and operated Open Dore Services, an appliance repair business.
In 1990 he and Becky adopted their daughter, Mayme Kathleen Marie Dore. Becky preceded him in death in 1993 due to cardiac problems.
Jeff worked at the Egging Company welding for six years before going to work for Cabelas at the Distribution Center, where he was employed for seventeen years. In 2012 he had a foot amputated due to diabetes problems and moved to Sherman, Texas to be with his daughter Mayme Gonzales and granddaughter Prudence Ofelia.
Survivors include his daughter Mayme Gonzalez and granddaughter Prudence of Sherman, TX; his father Robert E. Dore of New Port Richey, FL; one sister Deborah Chamberlain of Colorado Springs, CO and one brother Richard Dore of New Port Richey, FL
