Kenneth Yoder, 86 of Chappell, Nebraska passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 30, 2014 at the Indian Hills Nursing Home in Ogallala, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday February 3, 2014 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell with Pastor Art Roth officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to Welcov Assisted Living at Ogallala, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell.

Kenneth Dale Yoder was born October 4, 1927 on the family farm north of Chappell, Nebraska, the fourth of four sons born to Ezra and Minerva (Stutzman) Yoder. He attended school at Chappell, Nebraska. Kenneth entered military service in December of 1945 and served with the 6th Engineer Battalion in Korea. He was discharged from active duty in February of 1947.

Kenneth married June Sine of October 21, 1948. They were married for over 51 years. Five children were born to this union, the first of which died at three months of age. He lived most of his live in the Chappell area, but lived and worked in Colorado, Idaho and Missouri. He worked various jobs which included farming, ranching and semi-truck driving. He owned and operated several businesses with his wife June.

For sixteen years, he and June rode with the River City Trail Ride from Ogallala to Omaha, the last time being in 1997.

Survivors include his four children: Andrew Yoder of Ft. Collins, CO, Cindy and husband Richard Salsman of Grant, NE, Ted Yoder and wife Pat of Spring Hill, KS and Randy Yoder of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lydia Yoder of Filer, ID; four nephews and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Clayton, William and Ralph; his wife June and an infant daughter Brenda.
