Winifred Soper, 90, of Scottsbluff and formerly of Oshkosh, went peacefully to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Scottsbluff.
Burial has taken place in the Nebraska Veterans’ Cemetery At Alliance and a memorial service is planned for a later date at the Western Nebraska Veterans’ Home.

Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh is serving the Soper Family.
She entered into life on August 17, 1923, in England, joining eight brothers and sisters. Winifred’s parents were Dominic and Maria De Placito. She met Everett during WWII and they were married on April 9, 1944 and had a son, Richard, before coming to the United States. They were blessed with another son, Phillip, and enjoyed family life in Wisconsin before they moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska.
Winnie loved to garden and was a great cook – always trying new recipes on the family. She enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and will be missed by a lot of people whose lives she touched.
Winifred is survived by her brother Laurie and wife, Madge; son, Richard and wife, Mary; daughter in law, Becky; grandson, Douglas and wife, Shelly; great-grandson, Carter; great-granddaughters, Brandi and Burgandi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
