Elda Lorraine (Larsen) Draper, age 82, of Sidney, NE died Monday afternoon, July 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
Friends may call Sunday August 3, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Holechek Funeral Home.
Elda was born August 16, 1931 at Gurley NE to Grover and Frieda (Bichel) Larsen. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1949 and married LaVern Draper of Dalton, NE on August 20, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church, Gurley, NE. In 1962 they purchased Thompson Photo Center. The name was changed to Draper Photography and they continued the photography business until Vern’s death on November 16, 1994.
Elda was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1947 and enjoyed her church. She loved her town and church and enjoyed the work she was able to do for them.
Survivors are her children; Brenda Blanke, Sidney, NE; Linda and Steve Loftis, Lincoln, NE; Brian and Jackie Draper, Sparks, NV; Laurie and Bill Watson, Omaha, NE; and Kent Draper, Thornton, CO; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren plus sister-in-law Alice Larsen, Grand Junction, CO
Elda also loved her many and special nieces and nephews.
Elda was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Frieda; husband LaVern; brothers Lowell and Jean Larsen; niece June Larsen and nephew Tim Larsen.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Draper family.
