Genilia Emma Drown, 94, of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Regional West Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Community Wesleyan Church in Lewellen with Pastor Gerald Kahre officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Creek Cemetery near Lewellen.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Memorials are suggested to the Community Wesleyan Church in Lewellen.

Genilia Emma Drown was born on July 15, 1920 in Lewellen, Nebraska as the sixth child born to Thomas Leon and Vellma Beryl (Rudd) Rittenhouse. She graduated 8th grade from Ash Creek School, District #38 and later graduated from Garden County High School in 1940.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd Eldon Drown on May 26, 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Theology degree from Colorado Springs Bible College in 1956. She worked at VanBriggle Art Pottery, a job that she loved, for 17 years before retiring in 1981. Eldon and Genilia moved to Oshkosh on July 30, 1981. After returning to Oshkosh they ran the Oshkosh museum for a time.

Genilia was a long time member of the Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed antiques, garage sales, pottery, and making scrapbooks. She will be fondly remembered for playing jokes and having fun.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Genilia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon in 1997; sisters, Zella Nash and Enid Boggs; brothers, Leon, Even, Try, Merle, and Dallas.
