William Edward Rigney, 80, of Lewellen, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, September 12, 2014 at his home after a short term illness.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Private family scattering of the ashes will be held at a later date.
In respect for his love of animals, in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Panhandle Humane Society, 126 S Beltline Highway W, Scottsbluff, NE 69361.

Bill was born on August 30, 1934 in Salem Oregon. As a young man, he joined the United States Air Force, which he was very proud of.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses William G Rigney (Terri), Kay Hamilton (Ed), Cheryl Allemand (Jim), and Suzanne Vikki (Don); his children’s mother, Shirley J Rigney and a brother, Tom Parsons. Of his five children he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family would also like to mention all of the remaining extended family and friends whom have known him only as “Grandpa”.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Ray Rigney and his brother, Ted Rigney.
