Florence S. Elliott

Florence Elliott, 94 of Sidney, Nebraska died Friday morning, January 16, 2015 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign the register book at the Holechek Funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Sidney with the Rev. Thomas Hyde officiating. Inurnment will be in the Chappell Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday.

Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church or the Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care.

Florence, the daughter of Arthur and Amelia (Miltner) Stoll was born February 10, 1920 and baptized in Wood River, Nebraska. She moved with her parents and family to a farm north of Lodgepole when she was two months old.

Florence earned her education and graduated from Goodview Consolidated School in May of 1937. After graduation she moved to Long Beach, California and lived with her brother and sister-in-law Harold and Evelyn Stoll.

On September 26, 1941 she married Harold M. Elliott. They lived in various areas of California. She followed her husband who was in the Navy during World War II. A son Leslie A. Elliott was born in 1944 in Oakland, California. In 1952 they started building their home in Hacienda Heights, California and moved into their home in 1960.

Florence moved to Sidney in 1979 where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her four grandchildren: Harold, Rodney, Alicia and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Leslie; her brothers: Donald, Harold, Floyd, Virgil and Marvin Stoll; and her sisters: Verna Sick, Alberta Schmid and Bonnie Sutton.
