Dan Pursley, 73 a Gurley, Nebraska resident since 2001, passed away early Monday morning, July 27, 2015 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
Cremation has taken place and services will be planned and announced at a later date.
Dan was born February 26, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Orville and Nell (Stout) Pursley. He spent eight years in the United States Ari Force after high school. After his discharge he attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972. In 1973 he went to work for the New Mexico Department of Game & Fish until his retirement in 1994. Dan was an active law enforcement game warden and ended his career as a State/District Supervisor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was responsible for developing the program Operation Game Thief in New Mexico and then introduced the program across the United States, training others who still operate similar programs today.
Dan is survived by his wife Judy; daughter Jennifer Diller and family Jeff and George; son Jeremy Scovel and family Nancy, Paxton and Porter; numerous endured friends and outstanding hunting buddies.
