Gladys F. Arnett, 59, a longtime Oshkosh resident, passed away at her home on Friday morning, September 11, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Oshkosh Wesleyan Church with Pastor Lynn Lutz officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Gladys was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Grace and Alfred “Bud” Schurman on January 24, 1956.
Gladys attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and married Bill Arnett in 1974. She always remained active in the community, leading a small 4-H club in Rock Springs which her young 4-H’ers affectionately named, “The Boonie Loonies”. In the early 80’s, she learned the basics of computer programming while attending classes at Western Wyoming Community College. A lifelong passion with computers, programming, and web design ensued, and she often used those skills to promote and support the local area.
In recent years, Gladys enjoyed exploring and birding throughout Garden County. Along with her husband, she maintained a large garden, handcrafted a large annual holiday display, and operated the Arnett Express, enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Bill Arnett, her 5 children, Angie and Jason Shankle of Las Cruces, NM, Jenny and Jeramy Huddleston of Thornton, CO, Bill and Alicia Arnett of Lakewood, CO, Cindy and Terry Swanson of Montrose, CO, and Sherry and Michael Lutz of Chappell, NE, her step-daughter Cari Arnett of Cornelius, OR, her sisters Gail Fortuna, Betty Newman, and Bonnie Hanks, and 18 grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Grace Field, father, Alfred “Bud” Schurman, step-father, George “Skinny” Field, brother, John Schurman, sister, Donna Fleming, brother-in-law, Joseph Fortuna, and nephew, Jay Fortuna.
