Shirley (Frederick) Bruenger, 90, of Oshkosh and formerly of Chappell passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, April 20, 2016 at the Regional West Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh.
At her request, there will be no services. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Memorials can be given to the family for later designation at the nursing home.
Shirley Louise Glasgow was born April 11, 1926 in Lewellen, Nebraska to James and Camilla (Robinson) Glasgow. She attended school in Lewellen. She later obtained her GED from Deuel County High.
She worked for many years with Dr. Keenan at the hospitals in Chappell and Big Spring, worked as an EMT, and later at the nursing home in Chappell.
Shirley will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a wonderful cook.
She is survived by 3 children, Dennis of Lincoln, Connie Kier of Colorado Springs, CO, and John on Mills, NE; 8 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sharon Paro, sisters, Dorothe Kemper and Carol Orr, and brother, Eugene Glasgow.
