Julia Taylor, 91, of Oshkosh passed away Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016 at the Regional West Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Jeniffer Brand officiating. Burial will follow in the Oshkosh City Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorials in Julia’s name can be designated to the family.

Julia Mae (Ostrom) Taylor was born on July 10, 1925 in Stockville, NE. Her parents were Daniel and Ella (Bullington) Ostrom. She had three brothers, Ed, Wayne, Lee and a sister Blanche Ostrom. She grew up in Oregon and Northern Idaho. In December of 1944 she married Francis Cassell of Stapleton, NE and they had seven children: Kay, Shirley, Ron, Pat, Ken, Allen and David. In 1980 she married Howard Taylor of Lewellen, NE.
She worked for TRW in Ogallala, NE and after divorcing her husband, Francis, raised the children alone. She was extremely self-sufficient. She worked for the University of Missouri and managed a resort in Dixon, Missouri. She bought three restaurants and managed them, one in Newberg, MO, one in Paxton, NE and one in Lewellen, NE. She did a lot of things well. She was an excellent Mother who cared deeply for her children and others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ed (Hazel) and Wayne ( Ann), Lee and her sister Blanche. She was also preceded in death by her son David Lee Cassell her husbands, Francis Cassell and Howard Taylor.
Julia is survived by her children, Kay (Rex) Redden, Shirley (Ron) Blacklock, Ron Cassell, Pat (Ron) Behrens, Ken (Pam) Cassell and Allen Cassell, her grandchildren, Robert Holloway, Darren (Ann) Holloway, Kari (Ron) Wagner, Linda (Paul) Anderson, David (Chris) Purdy, Adam Cassell, Melissa (Michael) Davidian, Bill (Stephanie) Westfahl, Julie (Chad) Fisher, Ryan (Dusti) Cassell, Brian (Dana) Cassell and Scott Cassell. She is also survived by great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
