Josephine Clark, 99 of Chappell, Nebraska died Friday morning, September 23, 2016 at the Miller Memorial Care Center in Chappell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell with the Rev. David Abbott of the Chappell United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday in the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell.

Memorials have been established to the Donor’s Choice.

Josephine Frederrika Clark, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Livoni) Nellen was born November 11, 1916 in Sidney, Nebraska. She and her brother Robert grew up near Peetz, Colorado, moving to Sidney and then to Chappell in 1928. She attended grade school in a country school before graduating from Deuel County High School in 1936. She graduated from Beauty School in Omaha, Nebraska and returned to Chappell to work at the M. Louise Enright Beauty Shop. She worked there for forty-two years, retiring in 1982.

Josephine and Earl M. Clark were married on September 28, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Jo was a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club, the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Chappell Post #7002, the B.P.O. Does #94 in Sidney and the Chappell Garden Club. Along with her beauty work she enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, crafts and traveling.

Survivors include one step-daughter Shirley Clark of North Carolina; one niece Judi Foster; three nephews Robert Nellen, Daniel Nellen and Wayne Nellen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and two step-sons Roger and Raymond Clark,
