Donald D. Newland, 85, formerly of Lisco, entered eternal life early Friday morning, October 28, 2016 at Pathways Hospice in Loveland, Colorado.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh. Burial of the ashes will follow at the Lisco Memorial Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Newland family.
Donald Dean Newland was born July 18, 1931, in Yuma, Colorado to Fred and Maggie Newland
Donald was in the Army from 1952 - 1954 where he oversaw radar. He was a farmer and rancher for many years.
He loved his work as custodian of 13 years at the Lisco school and enjoyed mowing lawns and cemeteries.
In his later years he spent his time making just about anything out of wood.
He was greatly loved in life and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by daughter Lynn Waters, son John Newland, step children, Carol Moser and Jim Pickard. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Don had 8 brothers and 1 sister and his parents who preceded him in death along with his wife, Ruby.
