Ronald G. Tremain

Ronald G. Tremain, 76 of Sidney, Nebraska passed away Friday afternoon, November 11, 2016 at the Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona following a brief illness.

            Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor David Hall officiating. Services will conclude at the church with inurnment to be held at a later date.

            Memorials have been established to the Dorwart Cancer Treatment Center in Sidney.

            Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home.

             Ron was the eldest of three sons born to Forrest and Mildred (Hart) Tremain on August 13, 1940 in Sidney, Nebraska. He grew up on the family farm north of Lodgepole, Nebraska and attended grade school at the Sunnyside one-room schoolhouse. He graduated from Lodgepole High School in 1959. Ron attended Southeast Community College following his graduation from high school. He worked as paint manager at the Egging Co. and then returned to farming north of Lodgepole on family land. He also worked as a truck driver for Tremain Trucking. Ron had a lifelong love of farming, and only recently retired.

            On June 11, 1961 he was united in marriage to Karen Wise of Lodgepole. They made their home in Sidney and enjoyed 30 years of marriage until Karen died in 1992. Ron married Donna Weyerts on September 30, 1995. Donna’s three daughters considered Ron their bonus Dad.

            Ron enjoyed following the Nebraska Cornhusker football and volleyball teams and the Denver Broncos. He was also a passionate reader.

            Ron is survived by his wife Donna; two sons: Michael (Kathy) Tremain of Woodbury, MN and Troy (Jean) Tremain of San Diego, CA; two brothers:  Weldon (Nancy) Tremain of Sidney, NE and Ray (Susan) Tremain of South Lake, TX. He is also survived by his step-daughters: Carla (Craig) Brauer of Sidney, NE, DeAnn (Patrick Jr.) Ernest of Dalton, NE and Sherri (Roland) Rushman of Gurley, NE; nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

            Ron was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Karen and his son Devin.
