Marjorie Outson, 79, of Mitchell, formerly of Lisco passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Garden County Church of Christ in Oshkosh with Jerry Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Outson family.
Memorials are designated to the Garden County Church of Christ.
Marjorie Ellen Outson was born on April 7, 1938 in Wauneta, Nebraska to Elmer and Letha (Fosbinder) Ockinga. Her family later moved to Lyman and they farmed with her grandfather and eventually settled in Mitchell. She graduated from Mitchell High School.
After high school she married Raymond Johnston and 3 children were born, Steven, Randy, and Susan.
On August 14, 1970 she married Wendell Outson at St. John’s Lutheran in Scottsbluff. A son, Timothy joined the family. They lived on their farm near Lisco until their retirement in 2000. Marjorie and Wendell were honored in 1999 as Old Timers in the Lisco Celebration.
After Wendell’s passing Marjorie moved to the Lewellen Assisted Living then Wel-Life in Scottsbluff before spending her last few years at the Mitchell Care Center.
Marjorie’s greatest joy was her family and staying in touch with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 sons, Steven and Verona Johnston of Gering, Randy and Lisa Johnston of Brentwood, TN, and Tim and Tara Outson of Smyrna, TN; daughter, Susan and Randy McDonald of Mitchell; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sister, Mary and Richard of Castle Rock, CO and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wendell in 2003.
