Andrew Jackson Slayden III, 55, formerly of Anchorage, AK and Chappell, Nebraska passed away early Wednesday morning October 24, 2018 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center- Extended Care in Sidney.
Cremation has taken place and there are no formal services planned. The family will hold private services at a later date.
Memorials in Andy’s name can be made to his family to help defray funeral costs (c/o Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home PO Box 40, Chappell, NE 69129).

Andrew Jackson Slayden III was born October 12, 1963 in Portland, Oregon to Andrew Jackson, Jr. and Betty Rae (Smith) Slayden. In his early years he lived in Anchorage, Alaska where he attended Dimond High School. After high school he began his career in construction which followed him throughout his life.
He traveled the country helping rebuild after natural disasters, including Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina. He made many, many friends along the way.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and anything he could do outdoors.
Andy is survived by his sister, Jaquie and her husband, Randy Selby of Chappell; brother, Matt Slayden and Pua of Dewey, Arizona; niece, Shelby Selby of Chappell; nephews, Makana and Christian Slayden of Texas; numerous cousins in South Carolina and Georgia; and many friends scattered across the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
