Genevieve Scripter, 88, of Sterling and formerly of Lewellen passed away Friday evening February 8, 2019 at Devonshire Acres in Sterling.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh with Pastor Mike Ketchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday.
Memorials can be made in Genevieve’s name to the VOA or the Wesleyan Church.

Genevieve Lorraine Scripter was born on July 7, 1930 in York, Nebraska to Cornell Ralph and Mary Alice (Bray) Neff. She was raised in Lewellen and Green River and Saratoga, Wyoming before settling in Anchorage, Alaska where she graduated from high school in 1949.
After high school, she returned to Lewellen and married John Almberg on April 23, 1950 in Brule, Nebraska. To this union their daughter, Cheryl Diane was born. They later divorced and Genevieve went back to Alaska before returning to care for family.
She was united in marriage to Robert Scripter on November 1, 1954 in Raton, New Mexico. To this union, Robert E. Scripter, Jr. and Darice Lee were born.
Genevieve worked at Goodall’s in Ogallala, Marshalltown and was a homemaker for some time. After her children were grown, she returned to school to become a LPN. She had a dialysis patient she cared for and later specialized in geriatrics.
She was highly involved with the VOA. She donated exercise equipment and participated in Mary Beard’s Birthday Party. She loved to read a variety of subjects, dance, embroider, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of various churches around the area.
Genevieve is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Diane (Rich) Kiolbasa of Sterling, Darice Lee (Lawrence) Martin of San Acacia, New Mexico; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Doris Fisher of Great Falls, Montana; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, John and Robert; sister, Nadean Lane; son, Robert E. Scripter, Jr.; granddaughters, Pauline Diane Forney and Florence Dawn Martin; and grandson, Frances John Martin.
