Inez Marie Flamig, 89, of Oshkosh, formerly of Minatare and Sidney, passed away late Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Regional West Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday July 14, 2018 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh with Sister Anne Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.
Memorials in Inez’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Regional West Garden County Foundation-Activities Fund.

Inez was born on April 19, 1929, in Lewellen, Nebraska, to Ernest and Mary (King) Laban. She grew up in the Lewellen and Oshkosh area and attended Garden County Schools. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper and enjoyed reading, puzzles, and sewing. She was a music lover, playing piano and organ, and passed her love of music to her children.
She married Ross Saunders on August 17, 1947, at Bridgeport, Nebraska, and to that union was born one daughter. She married Herman Flamig on July 27, 1950, at Alliance, Nebraska and to that union were born six sons and one daughter.
Survivors include, sons: Duane Flamig and wife, Pandy Lolas of Goodyear, Arizona, Marlen Flamig of Whitney, Nebraska, Bryan Flamig and wife, Leslie Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona, Rusty and wife Karen Flamig of Hartington, Nebraska, and Randy and wife, Deanna Flamig of Sidney, Nebraska; daughters, Anita Burkhalter of Lawrence, Kansas, and Sylvia Bixenman of Hays, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Nancy, sister, Arlene Keever, son, Chris Flamig, grandson, Nathan Flamig, and husbands, Ross Saunders, Herman Flamig, Marlin Roach, Dallas Holt, Hugh Doolittle and Martin Furrey.
