Jan was born on May 3, 1956 in Casper, Wyoming to Tom and Donna LaMore. She grew up in Carbondale, Colorado. While growing up in school Jan was an avid runner and a cheerleader at Roaring Fork High School. After graduating Jan moved to Grand Junction and enrolled in cosmetology school. She graduated and eventually worked her way back to Carbondale and the Roaring Fork Valley. She found her niche at Hair Trix Salon in Carbondale and was a sought-after stylist for years. She gave the best mullet haircuts in the valley!
Prior to moving back to the Roaring Fork Valley, Jan met and married Ron Nielson. They were married and had one daughter, Landon Nielson. After returning to Carbondale Jan married Bill Inverso and had a son, Will. A few years were spent in Denver and eventually Jan went back to Chappell, NE where she met Pat Riley and they were married and had a son, Cooper Riley. She worked with her sister-in-law Christy at the Upper Cut for many years and had many good times doing hair for the community. She also had her own salon, Main Street Cutters for a few years before retiring due to health concerns.
