Lowell Chadwick

January 26, 1936 — March 12, 2021

Lowell Chadwick, 85 years young, of Oshkosh went to his heavenly home Friday evening, March 12, 2021 at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Oshkosh Community Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bruce Neal officiating.  Burial with military honors provided by the United States Navy will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.

Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon 1:00 pm. to 6:00 p.m. at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh.

Memorials in Lowell's name can be made to the family for later designation (c/o Marlene Chadwick PO Box 74, Oshkosh, NE 69154).

Lowell Joy Chadwick was born on January 26, 1936 to Joy Ellsworth and Saxie L (Church) Chadwick in Otis CO.

Lowell joined the Navy in 1954. He married his soul mate Iva Marlene Hicks on December 18th, 1955.  They started their new life together in Long Beach CA. Then moved to Denver CO after he got out of the Navy in 1957. They had 4 children, Debbie, Tamie, Joy and Rodney.

While in the Navy Lowell traveled to Japan, Alaska and Hawaii and other ports. After the Navy, Lowell became a truck driver for Solid Carbonic Dry Ice and worked there for 21 years. In 1978 they moved to Oshkosh NE where he worked for John Deere, Cold Water Fish Farm, Farm and Ranch Fertilizer and various other jobs. He made Oshkosh his home for almost 42 years until his precious life ended.

Lowell loved to travel with his family camping and sightseeing all over Colorado, California, Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. Visiting places like Yellowstone National Park, 4 Corners, National Redwood Forest, and Mount Rushmore.

Lowell and Marlene loved to take each of their grandkids to the USS Belle Grove ship reunions all over the US.  Lowell loved to collect Ink pens, Hats and Hat pins wherever he traveled. Great times and Great memories.  Lowell was an avid lover of sports. He loved the Denver Broncos, but he especially loved watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids games. You could hear him hooting and hollering from down the street. He always said his family was his greatest accomplishment.

Lowell leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Marlene, Daughters Tamie (Rick) Steiner of Aurora CO, Joy Nadene (Kevin)Kugler of Elsie, NE, Son Rodney (Angela) Chadwick of La Belle, FL. 10 Grandchildren Dedra (Darrell) Wyatt, Amber (Sergio) Perez, Neal (Brittany) Kugler, Dustin (Chelsea) Kugler, Jared (Kristina) Steiner, Sara Feldkamp, Tiffany (Chris) Hoaglund, Mark Noel, Bobby Kugler, Lilly Chadwick and 14 Great grandkids. Lots of Nieces and Nephews and longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by His Daughter Debbie Noel, 2 babies (lost due to miscarrige) His parents Joy and Saxie Chadwick, brothers Ellsworth Chadwick, Bill Chadwick, sisters Mary Jean Fincher and Grace Hendricks.
