Margaret Polk

Margaret M. Polk, 71 of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Lincoln. 

There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 12 noon to 8 pm with the family present from 5 pm to 7 pm at Butherus Maser and Love funeral home, 4040 A St in Lincoln.

Visitation in Oshkosh will be held on Thursday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 with Father Bryan Ernest and Deacon Dixon Powers officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Cemetery. 

The mass will be streamed live and available to watch after the service on the Holechek-Bondegard Facebook page (www.facebook.com/hbfunerals).

Margaret was born in Birmingham, England on May 27, 1950 to John and Eileen (Cuthbesen) Bradford. 

She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Polk on February 12, 1972 in Sydney, Australia.  They made their home in Lincoln where she worked at First National Bank for nearly 20 years.  Margaret loved every dog and cat she ever met and had such a sympathetic heart that she took in innumerable strays that no one else wanted.  She was known by many and loved by all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas J. Polk and her sister Patricia Brown who is married to Grant and their son Jonathan of in Sydney, Australia, brother Mark Bradford of Sydney, Australia, and brother Joe Bradford and his girlfriend penny of Ontario, Canada. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eileen Bradford.
