Myra Sexton

October 9, 1961 — February 12, 2023

Myra Sexton, 61 of Fort Morgan, Colorado passed away peacefully Sunday morning, February 12, 2023 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell with Phillip Baladez officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before services Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Myra’s name to The Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue.

Myra was born on October 9th, 1961, in Julesburg (Colorado) to Gladys & Myron Wilkinson. She was later adopted by Burt Porter.  The family lived in Chappell, NE.

Myra married Bill Sexton on December 16, 1978 in Big Springs, Nebraska.  They lived there for a short time before moving back to Chappell, where Bill worked at Leprino Foods.  There they became parents to 3 children, J.J., Bobby, and Crystal.

Myra enjoyed raising Great Danes and Quarter Horses with her family at the farm house north of Chappell.  She also loved helping her children in the Trailblazers 4-H club, as well as with high school sports.  During her time in Chappell, she was active as an EMT on the Chappell Ambulance Service.

In 1995, Myra and Bill moved to Fort Morgan (Colorado), where she pursued her career as a guard and then the director of security at AgTAC security.  She was still employed there at the time of her death.

Later in life Myra enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, riding RZRs, and camping with her family and friends. 

Myra is survived by her husband Bill, son J.J. Sexton, daughters Bobby (Shawn) Schrum and Crystal (John) Nicklas, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Bub (Candy) Wilkinson & 2 sisters Sharon (James) Baladez and Kalee (Chris) Coradini, her uncle Fred Jensen; and countless nieces and nephews.

Myra is proceeded in death by her Grandparents Butch and Dorothy Jensen, mother Gladys Hill, fathers Myron Wilkinson and Burt Porter, sister Pam Salvador, and aunt Carolyn Jensen.
