Ronn Franklin Castle passed away 8/30/2024 at his residence in Lakewood, Colorado. Ronn was born in Chappell, Nebraska in 1939 to Wilmer and Maureen Castle. The Castle family lived two miles south of Chappell. They were a strong part of the Chappell farming community, raising wheat, corn, and livestock.

Ronn was a life-long member of the Chappell Methodist Church. His absence is dearly felt by many who loved him. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on October 9, 2024 at the Chappell Cemetery, located north of Chappell Nebraska taking Thompson Avenue. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at Burgies Bowling and Restaurant, located at 145 Vincent Ave Chappell Nebraska 69129. Please text your RSVP to 1-858-922-9082 by Friday October 4, 2024.

In lieu of flowers memorial in Ronn’s name can be made to the Colorado Special Olympics at 12450 E Arapahoe Rd. Suite C. Centennial CO. 80112.

Ronn was an excellent student with a deep love for athletics, starting with his position as high school quarterback and point guard for three years. His senior year, the basketball team was undefeated until the last game of the season. An all-around athlete, Ronn won the John Statler Athlete of The Year Award in 1958. He would spend spring and summer running track, pitching for the Junior Legion and “Town Team,” and playing both golf and tennis. With his quiet good nature, he was a leader on and off the field, and elected as the Homecoming King for Chappell High School his senior year. Ronn took his competitive athletic talents to Hastings College and then joined the Huskers at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. During the summer months from school, Ronn returned to Chappell to work with his father and Uncle “Bud” on their farms. He loved golfing and playing tennis with his Chappell and Denver buddies throughout his life.

Ronn graduated from Denver University with a degree in Business and Finance. He then joined the banking industry in Denver working for American National. After his banking career, he became an Investment and Financial Planning Advisor. He was with American Express prior to joining LPL Financial in 1997 where he remained an active financial planner. Ronn was well respected in the industry and enjoyed helping his clients achieve their financial goals.

He is survived by his two step daughters Teela Craik and Dana Green (David) of Greeley Co., grandchildren Ashleigh Titus (Cajun) Greeley Co., Brandi Sosa Denver Co., and Austin Green (Alyssa) Gardendale Tx., great grandchildren Thailar, Akira, Leo, Aydn, Lelia and Taylor, sister Connie Goddard and nephews Chris and Luke. He also remained close to his “Chappell Cousins,” Linda and Gary Smith, Jim Castle, Larry and Joyce Castle, and Glenda (Gary pre-deceased) Castle.
