SERVICES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 2:00 P.M. SUNDAY, APRIL 15

            Ruth Wise, 96 of Sidney, Nebraska and a long time Lodgepole resident died Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell with Pastor Neil Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery north of Lodgepole.

            Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

            Memorials have been established to the Zion Lutheran Church, the Lodgepole Volunteer Fire Department or the donor’s choice.

            Ruth Marie Wise, the daughter of Herman and Ada (Petz) Lehn was born March 7, 1922 in Chappell, Nebraska. She grew up in Chappell where she attended school, graduating from the Deuel County High School in 1940.

            On November 23, 1946 she was united in marriage to Dale Wise. To this union two children Gregg and Jody were born. They made their home in Lodgepole. Ruth worked in the Cheyenne County Clerk’s office for 18 years.

            Ruth was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 4 years, was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for 7 years, and served on both the Library and Museum boards. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

            Survivors include her daughter Jody Wise of Long Beach, CA; sister Delores Dughman and husband Duane of Loveland, CO; special cousin Neva Schmidt of Chappell, NE; and three generations of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gregg, husband Dale, brothers Floyd and Jim Lehn and sister Esther Pulley.
