Sandra Butterfield

February 6, 1951 — June 28, 2022

Sandra Butterfield, 71, of Ogallala, formerly of Lewellen, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Lewellen Community Wesleyan Church with Pastor Bruce Neal officiating. 

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to service time Saturday morning at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sandi’s name can be sent to her sister, Crystal Andrews (PO Box 243 Lewellen, NE 69147) to be forwarded to David Wandera a missionary in Africa.

Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Oshkosh is serving the Butterfield family.

Sandra Elain was born February 6, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to Kenneth Aubrey and Naomi Elain (Yeazel) Sterling.  She was raised in Westminster and attended Westminster High School.  She worked various places, but most loved when she ran an insurance office.

In 1970, she married James Butterfield and they were joined by a son, James.  A daughter, Melony, later joined Sandi.

In 2016, Sandi moved to Lewellen and in 2021 she moved to the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.

Sandi will be remembered for her love of crafting, especially making cards, coloring, and her sense of humor and quick wit.

She is survived by her son, James (Stacy) Butterfield of Brighton, CO; daughter, Melony Williams of Julesburg, CO; 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Chad, Brando, and Devon; great-granddaughter, Naomi; bother, Dany Sterling of Chickala, OK; sisters, Char Sterling of Arvada, CO and Crystal (Dave) Andrews of Lewellen; and other extended family members and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Paul Richardson, and brother, Tommy Sterling.
